It's a music box triggered by the movements of feathers.
I used laser light and photocells to make "switches". When the feathers are moved by wind, it may block the light or not. I used several boolean variables to control states. When a state changes, it'll play a sound.
You need to install and run THIS when running processing codes.
-A Romantic Weather Box-
It's a wood weather box for long-distance lovers.
You can see the weather in your lover's city just by opening the door on the box. The weather's date is synchronous with the data in the internet.
When you open the door, you'll see a little house on the top of a small mountain. (Feeling likes "The Little Prince") If it's raining in that city, it'll rain in here, etc. Except for the weather system, it also has a day & night system. When it's night over there, it'll be night here, and you'll see the lonely little house turn on the light. You'll feel he/she is just beside you, in here.
When I was a child, if you ask me what I want if I can have a magic props, I'll say I want to have a little box, and I can put my home inside it. Whenever I want to go home, or I want to grab something from home, I can just open it. This idea makes me think about this little dream that I already forgot. It makes me feel warm and sweet.
However, some cool guys in Tokyo already made something that has very similar functions as what I want to make, it called Tempescope:) Though the experience I want is a little bit different with it.
-Mini Shaky Self-Portrait Badge-
It's a LED badge, which displays your pixel self-portrait, and it's very shaky.
When you shake it, it'll become glitched based on how strong you shake. When you stop, it'll recover gradually. It's procedurally generated, so you can upload any image into it.
Or maybe it could change based on the time...It's energetic at the morning, and it'll become more and more glitched as closing to night.
I like this kind of funny "nonsense" stuff:P
Here is an idea about an interactive installation.
The core is simple: A space fills up with a bunch of invisible "line"(totally invisible / use laser). If something touch it, it plays a note (the tone feels like harp). The music is procedural generated based on which line is triggered.
It has two versions.
